- We are a couple with Parkinson's disease who have redefined the term care partners. Don was diagnosed with Parkinson's 20 years ago and Carol was diagnosed in the spring of 2012. We have been married for 51 years and have 8 children;15 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
